Our Founding Story

The Wales-Genesee Lions Club was chartered in 1952, during a time when communities across America were coming together to support post-war recovery and build stronger local bonds. Our founding members were inspired by the Lions Club motto "We Serve" and the vision of making a meaningful difference in their community.

Starting with just 20 charter members, our club was established to address the specific needs of the Wales-Genesee area while connecting to the global Lions movement that had begun in 1917. From day one, our focus has been on practical service that makes a real difference in people's lives.
